I chose Golden Silk Boutique hotel based on the price and good reviews here: rtdredtdhg. This was our first trip to Hanoi and the staff was EXTREMELY helpful with telling us how to get around. The staff went out of their way to make us feel at home. The rooms are small, clean and comfortable and the lobby has a nice little bar for a late night wine or espresso.
From the Metro station you can get to just about anywhere in the city in roughly 20 minutes. There are many nice cafes and restaurants in the immediate area. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend this hotel to first time visitors and couples.
Within walking distance (if you’re in ok shape) to many attractions. Let me say that the courtesy and friendliness of the staff was exemplary. They spoke English, always happy to help, and absolutely wonderful. I’m not sure I’d tell any first time traveller to Hanoi to stay anywhere else. FANTASTIC PEOPLE ARE CRUCIAL TO FEELING WELCOME.
Didn’t eat at the hotel, but there is a restaurant in the lower level. There is a bakery across the street and a small grocer two doors down. There are a few restaurants in the neighborhood, but remember that the Metro station is very close so you can get anywhere you want very very quickly. The area is quiet at night, as this is located in the financial district and I always felt safe walking about. I have no complaints about the location, hotel, or anything else. Absolutely a pleasant stay.
I can’t say enough about how helpful the staff is and how approachable they are. You will not be disappointed unless you expect to spend your whole trip in the room, which is comfortable, but not plush. But you don’t go to Hanoi to look at your hotel room. There was a refrigerator in the room to keep your drinks cold, or any snacks you might buy from the grocer. Can I say enough good things? Not really. It was such a great place to stay, and I plan to stay again when we go back. They impressed us and the price was very reasonable. You can’t go wrong here. I’m envious that the reader of this message is going back to Hanoi!
